EVE ALBUM PUSHED BACK AGAIN

Eve new album Here I Am will be pushed back again to be release early 2008 instead of October.

According to rapbaement.com, Billboard said a spokesperson from Eve’s camp had no comment why the album was being pushed back again.

The album had guest appearances from T.I., Timbaland, Sean Paul and Robin Thicke. The hit song “Tambourine” is featured on the album and received many radio and video plays.

T.I. LEADS BET HIP-HOP AWARD NOMINATIONS

The King of the South leads with the most nominations this year with nine. Rival Lil Wayne was a close second with seven.

Other artist like Kanye West snagged six, Common with five, Jay-Z with four, Ludacris and 50 Cent have three, and Diddy and UGK grab two.

Last year, T.I. was the front-runner with nominations with eight, and won three awards at the first annual BET Hip-Hop Awards.

According to BET.com, the hip-hop legend KRS-One will be presented with the “I Am Hip-Hop” Icon Award at this year’s event.

For the second time in a row, the show will be in Atlanta and hosted by the always-funny Kat Williams.

I highly recommend that everyone watch the show, which will air on October 17 at 9 p.m. (ET/PT). Last years show was banging and had great performances by T.I., Game, and Lil Wayne just to name a few. I know that BET will come with it again this year and probably top last years show!

50 CENT LOSING ALBUM WAR TO KAYNE??

I must say, I am a little shocked by this report. According to Billboard charts, Kanye West is leading 50 in album sales with 781,000 to 50 Cent’s 603,000.

For weeks, these two have publicly battled and took cheap shots at each other before both of their albums dropped on September 11. Both were even on 106 & Park on performing and persuading fans to go by their albums.

But have no fear 50 fans, the rapper himself is still confident. According to rapbasement.com, 50 say it’s still too early to call the race over.

“[The sales] can’t be considered [any one way] anyway because it’s just a few days out,” he says. “I guess [the music industry] would consider me to be a hip-hop favorite because of my sales history, and people like to root for the underdog.”

He also adds how Interscope Records, who 50 is signed to, didn’t do a good job promoting the album like Def Jam did for Kanye.

“As far as the VMAs were concerned, Kanye received the upper hand. I am not going to front,” he continues. “He had four looks — his song “Stronger,” his new record “Good Life,” he had a performance with Soulja Boy, “Crank Dat,” and then he came out with me. So I feel like Def Jam is doing a better job of promoting the CD than Interscope. Interscope is just relying on my base and the actual music. I was on the VMAs for one minute and 20 seconds. I should’ve just stayed home.”

So for everyone who has not yet scoop up one of the albums, please do so. Either way you going to get your moneys worth because whether you like club bangers like 50 makes, or more deep music that makes you think like West makes, you going to enjoy the music.

KANYE WEST THROWS ANOTHER FIT AT THE VMAs

I’m not done with Kanye just yet. We all know that by now, Kanye is going to say what is on his mind. The problem is why does he seem to do it every time he doesn’t win an award lately?

This time it was at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards. Reports backstage and also reports from The Associated Press say West was expressing how frustrated he was that he had to perform his hit “Stronger” in a suite at the Palm’s Hugh Hefner Sky Villa and not on center stage.

Of course you know there’s a video of it on youtube…

Wow, he was mad all right! All jokes aside, Kayne needs to just relax a little. I understand that he is passionate about what he does and is one of the hardest working men in music today. Every award this man gets he deserves, but you can’t win every award all the time.

It makes me feel sometimes he doing this for the awards and the glory. When people before him like KRS-One, Run DMC, and Wu Tang did it for the love of the music.

Plus, West isn’t the only artist out here making good music, and they should be recognized as much as him.

Reports have been going wild about Jim Jones joining G-Unit when him and 50 Cent were on BET’s Rap City. Jones denies the rumors and has been saying on many websites, “50 cool but I can’t sleep with the enemy.”

Say it isn’t so, Brit is beefing with Rihanna. I guess Rihanna was laughing at the train wreck when she did her whack performance. My thing is, who wasn’t laughing at you Brit?

Halle Berry is pregnant!! Yes, the Oscar winner herself confirmed the reports to Access Hollywood that she is three months pregnant and said that having a child would give her life a deeper meaning. The baby daddy is her current boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, a male model who’s ten years her junior. Congrats to the couple and best of wishes!

WOW, summer vacation went by fast again! It was a good summer never the less, and it is good to be back at MSU again.

In Hip-Hop, it was an eventful summer for some and for others couldn’t wait for it to be over. Rumors still ran wild, and the competition was hotter than ever.

REMY MA’S ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER

Lets start with my girl Remy Ma. Early this summer she was accused and later arrested for shooting a woman named Markeda Barnes–Joseph, 23, outside a New York nightspot.

According to MTV News, Ma was a close friend w/ the victim. So why would the ex-Terror Squad MC shoot her own friend? The two according to reports, had a violent altercation that resulted in Barnes-Joseph being shot twice in the midsection. Ma confronted the victim of stealing $2,000 from her.

Remy Ma reported to the police and was arrested on charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to The Associated Press. Ma’s bail was set at $250,000

Since the shooting, Barnes-Joseph has spoken out about the violent altercation between her and her former close friend. According to allhiphop.com, she told the New York Daily News she is feeling better.

“It’s really hard. It hurts,” she said. “I sit here and I try to think every day, ‘Why is she doing that? How can she deny that?’”

I knew Remy Ma doesn’t play but dang she tried to kill her own friend. Even if she tried to steal from you, you can’t just shoot the girl. I must admit I kind of feel sad for the victim.

BRITNEY SPEARS VS. NE-YO & TIMBALAND

When did Britney start beefing? Anyways, the train wreck came at Ne-Yo wrong because he sold songs he written for her to Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussy Cat Dolls.

Reported by dlisted.com, the R&B artist and songwriter spoke to Ryan Seacreast about the issue:

“I was working with Britney Spears’ people. I wrote 6 to 8 songs for Britney Spears. Then Britney goes ahead and shaves her head, goes into rehab and when that happened I lost all contact with her A&R people, with her label. I was calling them, they weren’t answering my calls. So in the process of all that going on, that’s when I met Nicole Scherzinger. I played her two songs, she loved them, they cut the check and she recorded the songs. So when that happened that’s when Britney’s people called and said ‘ why are you giving away Britney’s songs’ and I say ‘uh, hold on. Y’all didn’t cut me a check.”

If that wasn’t enough, now Spears beefing with Timbo for he has reportedly declined Brit’s invitation to perform at the MTV Music Awards.

According to eonline.com sources say the mega-hit producer said:

“Timbaland doesn’t want her on the show. He thinks it would be too much drama, and that she is going to take away from the other performers.”

It’s funny because not too long ago Timbo and ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake was trying to resurrect her career.

If you ask me she need to put the music on pause and get her life together.

ALBUM WARS: CURTIS VS. GRADUATION

As you probably already know, 50 Cent and Kayne West albums drop on the same day, September 11. Now 50 saying if West sells more than me, he will retire!

It all started when 50 was on BET’s 106 & Park promoting his upcoming album “Curtis.” On the show, he challenges Kanye to a live debate to see whose albums are better. Unfortunately West declined the offer.

Thats when 50 told the New York Daily News:

“Let’s raise the stakes. If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I’ll no longer (perform) music. I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums.”

The two hip-hop mogules have since throw jabs at each other. 50 is going around saying:

“Kayne West is successfull because of me.”

While Kayne says his album is better and will out sell 50 Cent’s album.

This is what Hip-Hop needs, two of the games biggest and most successful artist going head-to-head. No matter who wins or lose, this will make people go out and buy cds instead of downloading (which artist hate).

So go out on Sept. 11 and cop the Curtis or Graduation album. Or be like me and get both.

I am going to get off track again and talk about the recent news when it comes to the recent battle over Anna Nicole’s baby girl, Dannielynn.

Since Dannielynn has been born, there was a dispute between two men: Larry Birkhead and Howard K. Stern. Anna to me didn’t seem like she even knew because she would go back and forth telling the men that they was the father.

Unfortunately Anna died soon after the birth of her baby girl and the drama began. I knew it was gonna be ugly because the baby would be worth millions since Anna would leave all her assets to her for her older son, Daniel Smith had already died just shortly after the baby’s birth.

It was crazy to see how much air time the story received on all the major networks. Every channel I flipped through had sometime of report on the story. I thought it was a little bit too much. For there is more important news to be covered, but I guess that tells you where most of the viewing public’s interests are.

At first I was curious to see who the baby daddy was. It was like a soap opera that you be seeing on TV. After months of coverage, it was like old news to me. Everyday it was the same thing, “who’s the baby daddy?”

So finally, the DNA test came back and Birkhead was the daddy. I was happy at first for I thought Stern wanted to be the daddy to get that money. I thought Birkhead would have been a better father too.

On the new issue of OK Magazine, on the cover is Birkhead holding Dannielynn. He sold the pictures that are feature in the magazine for reported $1 million. This sounds a little fishy to me but then you have to realize that celebrities do this all the time when they have kids.

So I really don’t know how the future of this poor little gil is gonna be. I just hope that the people around her love and protect her for all those bumps that she will face in her life.

We going to get off topic today and talk about the Virginia Tech tragedy. My heart goes out to all who have lost a love one and who are grieving.

Now with that said, I wasn’t very happy to see that NBC was airing the tape the gunman Cho Seung-Hui mailed to the network. I felt like it was the wrong time to air something so violent and disgusting for the whole country to see when they did it. I understand they were doing their job, which is to tell people like you and me information and what is going on in the world. I think they should have waited to air the tape. I know if I lost a love one jus a week ago I wouldn’t want to watch a tape of the man who killed them.

Plus I think that they are focusing way too much on the gunman and not the victims. Less face it, a couple of years form now and probably for the rest of our lives, we will not remember the names of the victims, but we will remember Cho Seung-Hui.

I hope that colleges around the country could take action when it comes to security. From installing alarms to warn people of danger, to having people report when they hear people talk about how they are going to hurt or even try to kill someone for whatever reason. Yes, incidents like this don’t occur very often. Who would ever thought something like this would happen at a college, but it did. God knows we all hope and pray this would never happen again.

The rapper Percy “Romeo” miller has officially signed a 2008 scholarship with USC Trojans basketball team.

Romeo, an All American point guard for Beverly Hills High School, is the first active hip hop artist to receive an full athletic scholarship.

The young rapper will put his TV and film roles on hold as he earns his degree in business administration.

Im glad to announce that T.I. next album is expected to drop sometime in July.

The king of the south will also be collaborating with two of the best in music as well.

According to a report on Rapbasement.com, Eminem and Justin Timberlake will be feature on the album.

“I’m anticipating going in with Eminem,” the King of the South revealed. “Eminem, we got a real hot concept that we spoke about over the phone. It’s gonna be on some real creative sh–. JT, Justin Timberlake, we’re just waiting on the proper song to get him on my album as well.”

The name of the album “T.I. vs. T.I.P.” is expected to display two sides of the rapper. One for da ladies like for example the song with J.T. called “My Love,” and another more hood persona like “You Don’t Know Me.”

Personally, I can’t wait to cop the CD and will tell everyone to do so too. T.I. never disappoints and always is at the top of his game.

Wat up doe!!! I know it’s been awhile since my last post and I do apologize. Times have been a little crazy for me these pat weeks, but enough of that lets talk about the DogFather himself, Snoop Dogg.

It looks like Snoop is in trouble again with the law when it comes to illegal substances. As mention like around a month ago, Snoop was arrested for have illegal substances in his car while in a NBC studio shooting his latest movie. Well it looks like he is in the same trouble again, but in Sweden! Yes, Sweden, out of all places.

Snoop was arrested in Sweden early Monday morning for suspicion of using illegal substances.

According to Associated Press, after the rapper wrapped up his show at the Globe Arena in Stockholm, Snoop was pulled over by police. The police officer reported that Snoop and an unidentified showed signs of drug use. A small amount of narcotics were also found which hasn’t been identified yet as what type, or if they were Snoop’s.

The GodFather of Rap and the Unidentified woman were detain around 1:25 a.m. and release four hours later. While detained, both had to give body samples to labs to test for illegal substances.

If convicted, Snoop maybe order to pay a fine.

“Such fines are means-tested and if he earns a lot, it can be a couple of thousand [Swedish crowns] (around $280),” Bran Lund explained.

A week or two ago, I posted a blog on how Kim went on 20/20 to talk about her relationship with superstar rapper Eminem. Well it looks like she wasn’t done quite yet.

Kim went on “Mojo in the Morning” show on Detroit’s WKQI 95.5.

During the interview Kim talked about how eminem hasn’t come around to spend time with the kids. How he was still addicted to drugs, and finally making a statement saying her ex-husband isn’t capable of loving a women.

“It’s a shame that I have moved and on she hasn’t” said Eminem in a statement yesterday. “Her ongoing press campaign is doing nothing but harm to the children, and for that I feel truly sorry. For their sake I wish she would stop.”

Kim also said she is working on a tell all book about her relationship with Eminem.

It’s obvious that all Kim wants is some revenge and some money out of this drama. It’s a smart way to get some publicity and fame. At the same time she making herself look bad and desperate. If she has a problem with Eminem, talk to him about it. Don’t make your personal life pubic because it’s going to bite you in the ass!

Okay, let me give you a brief on what the beef is between these rappers.

While 50 Cent was on Hot 97 (Feb. 1) doing an interview, Styles P. and Cam’ron called up the radio station trying to put 50 on blast.

Styles P. said that 50 forgot where he came from, and Cam’ron just went off just on him trying to make a fool out of 50.

Well, days later 50 fire back at Cam’ron and the Dipset crew with the music video Funeral Music. The video shows the G-Unit gang at 50’s mansion in waving guns, and an animated reenactment of Cam’s Lamborghini being shot up in Washington, D.C., last year. Here’s the video…

50 continues by making fun of Cam’s lyrics and jokes about how Jim Jones is the boss of Dipset, Juelz is the capo, and Cam’ron is demoted to solider.

Cam strikes back with his diss song Curtiss. Video was on Youtube but removed for a moment at Warner Music Group request. Later was reposted elsewhere on the site.

Now 50 cent got an anti-Cam website where a picture of Cam is pointing a gun to his head with 50 Cent’s name on the barrel. The site is link to www.myspace.com/camronrip.

It looks like this beef isn’t going to end anytime soon. Hopefully these guys figure out that this beef is childish and that starting beef just to get hype is old and wack.
