Denim day exceeds expectations

The Cotton’s Dirty Laundry Tour campaign on the MSU campus collected a total of 1,230 denim donations.

“That is more than double our goal,” said Mandy Sharp, a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).

The campaign included student donations on the day of the event, pre-donations collected around campus and contributions from local thrift stores.  Activities included free t-shirt customization, the Label Grab, the Question Wheel of Cotton and the Laundry Sort, with prizes such as video iPods, sweatshirts, footballs, basketballs and music downloads.

All denim collected was donated to the Cotton: From Blue to Green program. East Lansing’s denim donations will be turned into UltraTouch insulation for a school in Baton Rouge.

Cotton’s Dirty Laundry tour will cover the nation and MSU was the second stop.  For more information, visit www.accesscotton.com.
