SpartanEdge filmmaker wins essay contest
John Hudson, known to SpartanEdge readers for his films with pal Will Poirier (see below), won the first-ever Grant Howell essay contest on media bias. The MSU School of Journalism judged the contest, which was the result of a bequest from the late Mr. Howell. He was a lontime editor at the Daily Tribune in Royal Oak. Hudson, a sophomore in James Madison College, earned a prize of $1,000 and a $3,000 scholarship. (Click here to read the essay.)
