The Eagles of Death Metal
Peace, Love, Death Metal

AntAcidAudio/Rekords records

3-1/2 stars

Take The Darkness, combine it with the musical stylings of The White Stripes and add a thick red moustache and you have anything but ‘death metal.’ As misleading as the name is, however, it works out fine. Fronted by J. Everett Hughes (vocals/guitar) and backed by Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) on drums, the band sounds nothing like The Eagles and yields nothing that can be noted as death metal. Instead, the Eagles of Death Metal use their rock and blues sound to create an album enriched with musical flavor yet leaving just enough room for questions on whether or not they are serious.
