Death From Above 1979 – Romance Bloody Romance
Vice Records/Last Gang Records
3 stars

-- by Michael Dura

Usually when an established alt-rock band remixes an already solid record, they are left with something disastrous. Not the case for Sebastian Grainger and Jesse Keeler of the Canadian power-duo Death From Above 1979, who recently took some of the hits off of 2004’s You’re A Woman, I’m A Machine, remixed them and added two previously unreleased tracks to form Romance Bloody Romance. Death From Above 1979 has managed to stay low-key in the American music scene with their bass-fueled power rock, but don’t be surprised if you hear a couple of the dance remixes in the local clubs in the near future.
